Lamont Thurston joined Brooks in 2008 after a successful 14-year career in commercial banking, most recently managing a $2.2 billion commercial lending group. Licensed in property and casualty and life and health insurance, Lamont’s principal focus is large group employee benefits and the development of new relationships.
Lamont works closely with clients to help them understand the financial risks associated with their benefit programs and how to maximize the return on investment in their people. Through Brooks’ discovery process, he gains a thorough understanding of specific situations and creates solutions for the future. Joined by a talented team of Brooks’ professionals, Lamont executes those solutions which explains why client retention remains high.
Lamont currently serves on the board of directors and is treasurer for The Toledo Zoo. He is also a member of the governing board for Rocket Ventures, a member of the executive board for the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, and a member of the Business Engagement and Leadership Council (BELC) for the University of Toledo. He previously served for many years as a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio.
In 2006, Lamont was recognized as a Toledo 20 under 40 recipient. He holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree in business economics from Miami University.
