Jim Lortie has been in the insurance industry since 1981 and excels at meeting the bond and property/casualty needs of area construction firms. Prior to joining Brooks in 1993, Jim spent 12 years as a bond underwriter and marketing representative for USF&G.
Jim’s track record of building strong relationships, providing excellent service, and commitment to the construction industry benefits our clients and sets him and Brooks apart from the competition.
Jim’s commitment to the construction industry and to understanding the needs of his clients is evidenced by his industry certifications and active participation in a number of contractor associations. Jim holds designations as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS), and Associated Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB). He is current president of the NW Ohio Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, a member of the executive committee and a past chairman of the Toledo chapter of the Ohio Contractors Association and past chairman of the Associated General Contractors insurance committee.
A Massachusetts native, Jim has lived in Toledo for over 30 years and has worked with contractor clients throughout all of northern Ohio. He holds an MBA from the University of Toledo and a bachelors of science in business administration with a major in accounting and economics from American International College, Springfield, MA.
